Deirdre McCarthy - Massage Therapist

Deirdre’s background is rooted firmly in Anantomy and Physiology; she hold’s a Doctorate in Physiology from University College Cork, and worked for many years in Medical Research before training as a Massage and Reflexology Practitioner. Deirdre`s focus is on Clinical and Remedial Bodywork, and through touch therapy she aims to restore natural, pain-free function to the body, while keeping the whole person in mind.

I practice Massage Therapy and Reflexology, and work from my family farm overlooking the secluded and scenic rural surrounds of Dunworley Bay in Barryroe, West Cork. I also work in Fionnuisce in Bandon by appointment, and offer home visits for my clients who are unable to travel out.

My background is rooted firmly in Anatomy and Physiology; I hold a Doctorate in Physiology from University College Cork and I worked for many years in Medical Research before training in Massage and Reflexology.

I specialise in Clinical and Remedial Bodywork, and through touch therapy I aim to restore natural, pain-free function to the body, while keeping the whole person in mind.

I am particularly experienced in pre- and post-natal Pregnancy Massage and Reflexology, and will work holistically with the Mother up to and during labour as required. I love everything about pregnancy, I am a Mother myself, and I always feel very privilaged to be able to help and work with both Mother and Father during this very special time.

I am continually updating my skills to enhance my knowledge and techniques for my own benefit and ultimately for the benefit of my clients. I recently completed courses on Indian Head Massage and Advanced Reflexology Techniques and am very excited about sharing these wonderful therapies with my clients.
